Safe Communities

Especially as our federal government undermines the safety and security of many of our neighbors, it is essential that our state government does everything it can to protect all Minnesotans.

Together, we must:

-Ensure the safety of immigrants by resisting any policy designed to put immigrants and their families at risk and, where possible, implementing protections for these neighbors.

-Work to end gun violence, including through more stringent background check requirements for gun purchases and making it harder to access semi-automatic weapons, as well as increased protections for survivors of domestic violence.

-Pursue real and lasting solutions to pervasive sexual harassment, both within our government and other institutions across our community.

-Set tougher standards for police conduct that demand accountability, promote de-escalation and implicit bias training, and support healthy police-community relations.
